The Road Ahead

While on my morning walk with georgia belle (my beautiful black lab, rescue of course) I was drawn to all of the windshields and rear view mirrors in the cars I passed by. It was a great reminder to always continue to look and move forward. The Windshield is so large so you can see all of the great wonders that are ahead of you and the rear view mirror is so small because you see what is behind you as it grows smaller and eventually disappears......

I once read "Time is your most valuable asset, don't let someone else spend it for you" author unknown
How true this is.

Keep moving forward even when you want to stop and simply curl up in a ball.......Joy will be your reward!!

Easy Decorative Pillows for the Home

For a quick change in room decor add new throw pillows by covering the one's you already have.
It's time to be creative and refresh your home.

Needed
Large cloth napkins in color and design of your choice
glue gun

Remove current pillow covers from pillow forms. Match 2 napkins of similar size with backs to each other. Using your glue gun adhere 3 of the 4 sides along the outer edge. Insert pillow form, then glue the 4th side to enclose the pillow form.

Optional
Add tassels to the corners with a needle and thread.

Voila!!! new colorful pillows at a nominal cost.

Traveling with Your Beloved Pet

Like many I prefer to take my beautiful black lab georgia belle with me when I can. I have found that the Kimpton Hotel chain is the best place to stay with your pet. They do not charge extra and go out of their way to make your stay fantastic. I take georgia belle with me to morning coffee and the daily social hour in the lobby.

Last Christmas we stayed at the Hotel Monaco for a week. Located in the heart of beautiful, vibrant downtown Portland, Oregon. The customer service was impeccable. The decorations were festive. One step off of the elevator and you were surrounded by the spirit of the Holidays.

We have stayed at several Kimpton Hotels, always a Joy!!!

Give them a try....

Design hints for Window Treatments

Bamboo poles can make great curtain rods. Place two hooks in the ceiling just shy of the length of the rod. Attach fishing line making a loop from each hook. Slide curtain onto bamboo rod and insert ends of each rod into each loop. Voila!!! No mess no fuss cleverly hung window treatments.

Hint - bamboo rods can be purchased at craft stores for not much $$$$

Yummy Eats for Fall

Must try recipe....

Cheese Slaw
160z. Swiss cheese or a combination of Swiss and Gruyere is my favorite
1/2 cup banana peppers, roughly chopped
1/2 cup jalapeno peppers, roughly chopped
your favorite mayonnaise, I am a Duke's girl
green onion, optional

Scoop style corn chips are the best

combine all ingredients, except corn chips of course. Not to much mayo, just enough to bind it together. Refrigerate overnight so its absorbs all of the hot and spicy flavors. Serve with corn chips.

Enjoy!!!
